Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma is on the verge of joining West Ham United, . The same was implied by the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel during his press conference and confirmed by David Moyes in his.
Earlier, the Frenchman underwent a medical after the two clubs agreed to a transfer fee. He was not involved with the Chelsea squad in training for their tomorrow’s Premier League game against Liverpool.
Chelsea head coach denied outright that Zouma was not with the squad since he was undergoing his WHI medical. However, Tuchel did confirm that negotiations between the two clubs have indeed taken place.
“Kurt is not with us but it’s not because of any negotiations,”
“He has some personal family issues going on and we have allowed him to travel to France to sort these out.
That is why he is not with us at the moment, nothing else, and is why he won’t be involved tomorrow but I won’t lie to you, there have been some negotiations with West Ham.”
the Germand told the club’s website.
West Ham manager David Moyes was more upfront with the media than Tuchel, confirming that the player was indeed undergoing a medical ahead of the proposed move.
Tuchel added that there could be more potential incomings and outgoings at Chelsea before the window closes. The Blues have been heavily linked with Jules Kounde and Saul Niguez over the last few days.
“The transfer window is not over yet and we still have some ideas,”
“We have discussions and we are trying, but not all decisions are taken in terms of our squad. There are situations that we are aware of.”
Moyes stated.
Chelsea have signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan so far in the transfer window. The Blues paid a club-record fee for The Belgian, eclipsing the sums they paid to Athletic Bilbao and Bayer Leverkusen for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Kai Havertz, respectively.
Lukaku made his second debut for the club last weekend against Arsenal and scored his first goal with 15 minutes on the clock.
