The United States international Christian Pulisic has claimed that he is inching for a big season at Stamford Bridge. Pulisic will get the full pre-season benefit at West London and that will be crucial for him in the long run ahead of a huge season for the Blues.
The American winger who joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, missed the pre-season that year. He even missed the pre-season last summer as he was injured. But ahead of the 2021-22 season, he will finally get an opportunity to feature in the pre-season at Stamford Bridge.
The young winger feels that this will be his shot at best physical fitness since joining the Blues. Pulisic has already joined Chelsea’s training camp in Ireland.
The USMNT star, who scored in a 6-1 friendly win against Peterborough last week, told the club’s official website.
I think that’s going to be a big positive for me, so I’m looking forward to the start of the season
This year is my first real full pre-season at Chelsea and it’s just given me a good chance to get my full fitness and for me to get 100 per cent fit and ready to play 90 minutes once the season begins. That’s the aim for me, just trying to get my body in a good place where I can be available as much as possible this season.
Hitting the ground running at the start of the season is the goal, of course. It’s nice to be able to have a full pre-season this time and get nice and fit and be 100 per cent ready in time for the start of the season.
speaking about his goal at the start of the season, Pulisic added.
The 22-year-old winger has scored 17 goals for Chelsea ever since joining the club in 2019 while assisting 14 more goals for his teammates. While Pulisic has been crucial to Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League win last season and has also won two FA Cup titles, he has also suffered persistent injuries.
Pulisic has shown glimpses of his brilliance donning the Chelsea blue. But the supporters will finally hope that the American winger enjoys an injury-free season and realizes his potential in the upcoming season. The youngster feels that a full pre-season will keep him in good stead ahead of a gruelling season.
