Things have certainly heated up between two of the more accomplished managers in modern football in the last few days. The Liverpool manager has said that any club that doesn’t agree with Manchester City’s transfer spendings can go to court to make a statement.
The debate started when Jurgen Klopp took a slight jibe at Chelsea and the Manchester clubs for spending heavily in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Earlier, City have signed Jack Grealish for £100 million. If reports are to be believed, they are now looking to acquire the signature of Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who will reportedly cost at least £130 million.
Chelsea have paid £98 million for former Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, while United have made two statement acquisitions in English winger Jadon Sancho and French centre-back Raphael Varane.
On the contrary, The Reds have only signed Ibrahima Konate, for whom they had to spend £36 million.

Recently in a press conference, speaking about the difference in transfer budget between them and the other elite English clubs, Klopp stated that they are allowed to spend only what they earn, while others don’t have to abide by any such expenditure limit.
These comments have not gone down well with Pep Guardiola:
“Some owners want to benefit, our owners don’t want any benefits. So they don’t invest in the team, while we invest what we can. We have limits for Financial Fair Play and if they don’t agree (with City’s transfer expenses) they can go to court and make a statement,”
“Years ago, when Manchester United won a lot of titles, it was because they spent more money than other clubs. Do you remember that? At that moment Man City couldn’t do it because we did not have the owners we have now,” the 50-year-old further went on to add.
