With the capture of Tom Heaton, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane, Manchester United’s focus now turns on loaning out or selling players whose progress might be hindered by the new arrivals. Deadline day is a fortnight away, and the Red Devils are entertaining offers for a few of their lesser important players.
Among those unlikely to play a major role for Manchester United this season, Andreas Pereira seems to be attracting the most interest.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Brazilian midfielder has offers on the table from several clubs, including Everton and Flamengo. However, while United want to sell their academy graduate permanently, the only interest generated for the Brazilian so far is in terms of loan deals.
Pereira spent last season on loan at Lazio. The midfielder has racked up 75 appearances for the Red Devils earlier but doesn’t seem to be a key part of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans.
One player who is expected to be a part of Solskjaer’s plans is Amad Diallo, who joined from Atalanta last summer. The Ivorian made a handful of appearances for both the first team and the reserves during his first six months at the club and even scored a goal in the UEFA Europa League – a glancing backward header against AC Milan.
With Sancho’s arrival, Amad’s minutes are likely to be cut short. According to Romano, Manchester United are looking to loan the 19-year-old out for the season with Crystal Palace and Swiss side FC Basel interested in his services. There is further interest in Amad from the Premier League and even the Bundesliga, but the club is yet to decide his future conclusively.
