Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo understands that City are ready to look past Harry Kane in case the Lillywhites fail to change their mind about agreeing on a deal for the Englishman. Manchester City are looking at Antoinne Griezmann as an alternative to Harry Kane.
Greizmann joined Barcelona in 2019 but has failed to live up to the expectations. With the Blaugrana eager to reduce their wage bill, the former La Liga champions are likely to part ways with the Frenchman this summer should an irresistible offer arrive.
Barcelona would happily accept cash for the 30-year-old but could also be satisfied with a player swap deal. The Blaugrana is said to be interested in signing the likes of Aymeric Laporte and Bernardo Silva from Manchester City and this could play right into their court.
It is unclear the price tag set on Griezmann, especially since he is considered untouchable this summer. The Frenchman’s contract does not expire until 2023, and hence the club is in no hurry to let him go.
With the club already having secured the signings of Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero, attacking options for the former La Liga champions are in plenty. Moreover, with a fully fit Ansu Fati in the ranks, it is unlikely that Griezmann is going to be an automatic starter in the XI for Ronald Koeman.
