As Romelu Lukaku nears a return to Chelsea, Inter Milan have identified Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata and Lazio’s Joaquin Correa as his potential replacements. Subsequently, the Bergamo side will target Tammy Abraham should Zapata join Inter.
On Tuesday, reports revealed that the Nerrazurri had turned down two of Chelsea’s bids for Lukaku, and one which involved the Blues sending Marcos Alonso to Milan along with a substantial transfer fee.
However, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, The Blues are expected to return to Internazionale with a bid of 120 million euros, along with Alonso, to price Lukaku away from them. The London outfit is also offering the Belgian a long-term deal and a considerable wage package, which would make him among the highest-paid players at the club.
Should the two clubs, and consequently the player, agree to a move, Lukaku will move back to London. If that happens, Inter will target Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata and Lazio’s Joaquin Correa, reports Gianluca Di Marzio. The report also states that if Zapata moves to Inter Milan to fill in the gap left by Lukaku, Atalanta will target Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham, thus completing a full transfer circle.
Abraham is reportedly on Chelsea’s transfer list and has already attracted interest from Premier League outfits, including West Ham United, Arsenal, and lately, Aston Villa. However, the English trio could soon be joined by Champions League-bound Atalanta, who will turn their attention towards the forward in the case of Zapata’s departure.
Despite being Chelsea’s top scorer over the last two seasons, Abraham is not thought to be a part of head coach Thomas Tuchel’s plans. The German even left the striker out of the squad completely on several occasions last season, including the Champions League final.
