Paine is all set to mentor the Under-19 cricketers in Australia in the upcoming Cricket Australia XI vs NT that will be played in Darwin next month. The Australian Test captain recently undertook a high-performance (level-three) coaching accreditation and hence, this time with the Under-19 cricketers will help him gain some coaching experience as well.

Under-19 cricketers. The current Australian Test captain recently undertook a high-performance (level-three) coaching accreditation, and hence, he will be a part of Northern Territory’s upcoming Cricket 365 program. In this event, Australia’s young cricketing talent will take their preparation for next year’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in the Caribbean.

The presence of Paine will boost the preparation of these Under-19 cricketers. The Tasmanian wicket-keeper batsman will be a part of the Cricket Australia XI coaching staff, who will take on a representative NT team in Darwin next month. It will be a three-match One-Day series.

The squad for the CA XI was announced earlier this week, and most of the players who are hopeful of making it to the final World Cup squad were included. Moreover, the squad also boasts of the experience of Chris Tremain, Jack Edwards, Liam Guthrie and Jason Sangha.

Paine is likely to join the CA XI squad for the final two games of the three-match series. The series kicks off on the 1st of August, Sunday. Graham Manou, Cricket Australia’s National Talent and Pathways manager, was excited to see Paine link up with the Under-19s and he believes that the Aussie Test skipper may be indicating his future plans of being involved in coaching roles.

“He’s obviously thinking about his future beyond playing days, and it’s nice that we’ve got the opportunity to be able to support him in that. He’s undertaken his level-three, or high-performance coach accreditation so he’s starting that process.

It gives him a chance to see what’s happening and learn a little bit from some of the other coaches who will be involved in Darwin.

And it also means he can continue to impart some of those behaviours and values the Australian team are wanting, from not only their current players but future players as well,“

Graham Manou was quoted saying to cricket.com.au.
