The charity match at the Mote Park Cricket Club in Maidstone, Kent ended up getting abandoned after a fight, which saw players being attacked. One thug walked on the ground while players of the two teams were having a chat and started swinging the bat at players.

The whole incident was recorded on camera and made rounds on Twitter. The clip shows a few players having an argument before a man got involved and started attacking players with the bat. This escalated quickly as then the other players started fighting with each other. In disturbing visuals, a couple of men can be seen down on the ground while they were beaten.

The charity event named Share for Care was organised to help people struggling in this disastrous pandemic situation. As reported by KentOnline, the tournament was intended to raise money in order to provide medical assistance to needy people in Pakistan. Due to a barbaric act of a few inhumane thugs, the match was abandoned, with several players suffering injuries.

The organiser of the event, Shehzad Akram, explained what happened and condemned the violent act. He further added that such is not tolerable and brings disgrace to the sport.

“We tried our best for charity and these lunatics just spoiled it. At the end of the day, we were having the final match and it was the last couple of overs when some guys came on the pitch and attacked a few of the players.

I don’t know what the main reason was behind it, but there were some troublemakers on the ground. They started fighting with their bats and hitting people. We don’t tolerate this behavior,”

     Akram told KentOnline.
