Man City pushing on with 200m deal for both Kane and Grealish

Now that the Euros are over, clubs are expected to shift gears in the transfer market. Manchester City are one club linked with some huge moves, namely for English stars Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.

The Athletic’s Manchester City correspondent – Sam Lee – reports that the club is continuing their attempts to sign Kane and Grealish. Despite Pep Guardiola claiming last season that City will not spend “crazy money” in the market, it seems that the club will be willing to part ways with a figure in the region of 175 to 215 million pounds to sign both players.

City have already registered an interest in Harry Kane and did make their first move to sign the player from rivals Tottenham Hotspur. However, Spurs chief Daniel Levy is yet to sanction a move for Kane, which would see him join the team that finished first in the league last season. Levy has maintained the stance that Kane is not for sale up until now.

As for Grealish, The Athletic reports that City have made significant progress. The club hopes to complete a swift move to bring Grealish to Manchester. However, there is also the talk of the midfielder signing a new contract with Aston Villa instead, which would dash any hopes of a transfer.

City will have to balance the significant outlay with outgoings, and some progress has already been made in that regard. The club has offloaded Jack Harrison to Leeds United, while Lukas Nmecha is closing in on the move to Wolfsburg.

Meanwhile, some of the key first-teamers could depart this summer, including Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva. Aymeric Laporte has previously wanted out of the club, while Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez are also on the market.
