Work continues at the AC Milan headquarters to strengthen the first team in preparation for their return to the UEFA Champions League.
AC Milan are in immediate need of reinforcements in several areas of the pitch. The Rossoneri recently lost playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu to rivals Inter Milan and are looking for a replacement. Meanwhile, alternatives to striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic are also being viewed, with the Swede turning 40 soon.
Sky Italia has reported AC Milan’s interest in Ajax star Dusan Tadic. The Serbian has become a fan favorite in Amsterdam since completing his move from Southampton back in 2018. In the years since, Tadic has made one short of 150 appearances for Ajax and has scored 76 goals. The veteran was also key to Ajax’s dream run to the Champions League semi-final back in 2019, during which they beat Juventus and Real Madrid.
Tadic, 32, can play in several positions across the frontline, as he has done in Amsterdam. However, his signing would require a deviation from Milan’s recent transfer policy. The Rossoneri have targeted young players with high potential in the past few seasons but have broken their policy for the likes of Ibrahimovic and Simon Kjaer.
Tuttomercatoweb has claimed that AC Milan are keen on signing Euro 2020 star Patrick Schick. The Czech Republic forward caught the eye of followers with a stunning goal from the halfway line against Scotland and is among the top scorers in the tournament. Schick has the opportunity of helping his side qualify for the semi-finals, with the Czechs facing Denmark in the quarters.
The report claims that Milan are keen on Schick, who is currently contracted to Bayer Leverkusen. However, to buy him, the Rossoneri will have to part ways with a whopping 40 million euros. The forward, meanwhile, only joined Leverkusen last summer after spending a year on loan at RB Leipzig. He scored nine goals for the German giants in his first season as they failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
