According to the Cricbuzz report, MS Dhoni already had conversations with franchise owner N Srinivasan, and they have come to the final conclusion that the CSK legend’s participation in the IPL 2024 is set to depend upon the number of retentions that the BCCI will allow making the team ahead of the 2025 mega-auctions.
However, it seems that if he doesn’t play in the IPL 2025 edition, he will surely be present in the dugout as the mentor. MS Dhoni and CSK have become synonymous since 2008, and it does not seem like their bond is set to end anytime soon. The three-time ICC-winning captain role may change, but he will always be at the heart of the Chennai Super Kings.
