Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has said that a lot of people are going through tough times and the cricketers are lucky to do what they like and he is happy playing cricket. He admitted that players need to try to get the best out of their bubble life as well.
It hasn’t been the easiest of times and for more than a year now, the COVID-19 pandemic has haunted the world. Cricket was affected big time as well. Ever since the game has returned, players have constantly been in bio-secure bubbles and they have had massive restrictions.
A lot of players have spoken about how tough the bubble life is and how draining it can get as they move from bubble to bubble from one tournament to the other. However, Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma is looking at the positive side of things.
He felt that a lot of people are not getting to do what they like and they are not able to live a normal live and work. On the contrary, the cricketers have got back to what they love and hence, are the blessed ones. Sharma admitted that they need to adjust and try to get the best out of the bubble life.
A lot of people are going through hard times, a lot of people are not able to work. Not able to do what they like to. At least we’re lucky that we’re getting to do what we like. But I am happy playing cricket which is what I love at the end of the day. If we have to adjust, we have to adjust. And try and see how you can get the best out of this bubble life as well. Like we’ve had some good times in the bubble,
Rohit Sharma was quoted saying in a video posted by the Mumbai Indians Twitter handle.
The IPL kicks off with MI taking on Virat Kohli’s RCB on the 9th of April in Chennai. Rohit Sharma has already been a part of three bubbles (UAE for IPL 2020, Australia and then at home against England) and this IPL bubble will be his fourth.
