Spurs boss Conte to replace Allegri at Juve next week – reports

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is tempted by a return to Juventus and is a leading contender to replace Massimiliano Allegri.

The Bianconeri may have to wait until the end of the season to decide on a manager, but their patience is wearing thin after a disastrous start to the season.

The Old Lady are currently eighth in Serie A, 10 points behind leaders Napoli, and have also been eliminated from the Champions League. The Bianconeri struggled against Benfica in their most recent match, prompting many to wonder if the team is still under Allegri’s management.

The 55-year-old is still under contract with Juventus until 2025, and terminating it will cost the club significant money. Conte’s contract with Tottenham expires at the end of the season, and the former Juventus manager could leave the Premier League once more if his Tottenham team fails to win silverware.

Conte has led Tottenham to their best Premier League start in history, but he has repeatedly lamented his team’s lack of quality. The north London club is on a three-game losing streak and has yet to secure a place in the Champions League knockout stage. Between 2012 and 2014, the fiery Italian led Juventus to three consecutive Scudettos, but his European record was concerning.

Meanwhile, Juve are reportedly looking to sign Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot, reports Tuttomercatoweb. The 23-year-old has appeared in all 11 Premier League games for the Red Devils and has proven to be an extremely useful weapon for Erik ten Hag’s side.

His contract is set to expire in less than a year, and he has a season of Serie A experience thanks to a loan spell at AC Milan during the 2020/21 season.
