Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura, who has only made two appearances this season due to a a persistent calf injury, believes his team can win the 2022-23 Premier League title. After an excellent start under Antonio Conte, they are one of only two unbeaten teams in the tournament so far, along with Manchester City.

“To be completely honest, of all the seasons I’ve been here, this is the one where we have the best chance. This is the season when there are the most expectations. I think it’s down to the quality of the team, the coach and the group,”

the Brazilian told Stats Perform, per HITC Sport.

”The team kept getting stronger. Of all the years I have been here, this is the season where we are closest to the title. Many teams are strong this year, we are aware of the competition. But yes, I think we will fight for the title,”

    he added.

Tottenham finished 22 points behind Premier League champions Manchester City last season, edging out Saturday’s opponents Arsenal into fourth place.

17 – Tottenham’s 17 points from their seven Premier League games this season is their joint-best record at this stage of a campaign, level with 2016-17 when they finished as runners-up to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea. Pushing. pic.twitter.com/Jm7LMoxWbt

However, since Conte’s arrival in November 2021, the gap has shrunk significantly. Spurs are third in the Premier League with 35 games under his command, only 17 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side. This season, they have the same number of points as the reigning Premier League champions.

Spurs are unbeaten in their first seven league fixtures this season and can go top of the table if they beat Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The north London pair, along with City, have led the charge in the early months of the season, with Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United struggling.
