Chelsea are set to sign 19-year-old Russian talent Arsen Zakharyan from Dinamo Moscow, the player’s agent has confirmed.
Pavel Andreev, who represents the atacking midfielder, confirmed the same to RB Sport after reports emerged in the morning that the Blues had sent a 15 million euro bid to sign the player.
Under new co-owner Todd Boehly, Chelsea have spent heavily on youth, signing Carney Chukwuemeka, Gabriel Slonina, Cesare Casadei, and Omari Hutchinson to headline the new recruitment policy.
Meanwhile, talks are also continuing between Chelsea and Barcelona for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Blues’ key target for reinforcements in the attack.
The Premier League side is unwilling to match Barca’s price demands – believed to be in the region of 30 million euros – and is attempting to include Marcos Alonso as part of the deal instead. Barcelona have held a previous interest in Alonso, chasing him through the summer before stopping abruptly last week.
Rumors also attached Chelsea’s name to AC Milan talisman, and the 2021/22 Serie A MVP of the Year, Rafael Leao. As per Milan manager Stefano Pioli, the Portugal international has been professional in his conduct so far with reports believing that the Rossoneri won’t part with their star asset until his 150 million euro release clause is met.
“I don’t see any problem with Rafael Leão. He’s not distracted by transfer rumours, he’s focused on working at best level,”
Pioli said.
The Blues have also been linked with Everton star Anthony Gordon recently, the media speaking of a 60 million pound bid that the club lodged with the Toffees but which has since been denied by manager Frank Lampard.
“They have not bid £60m – also, new proposal hasn’t come in. He remains our player. He’s in the squad for tomorrow. He’s a huge player for us, not only a big value but more importantly to the squad. He’s an Everton boy,”
Lampard remarked.
