Chelsea have progressed in their negotiations to try and sign Leicester City centre-back Wesley Fofana, multiple sources report. Moreover, the club agreed to pay Inter Milan a considerable fee to sign young talent Cesare Casadei – who will travel to London for medical tests in the coming days.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Fofana have agreed personal terms, but the accord between the two clubs is yet to be reached. The 21-year-old penned a five-year contract at the King Power in March, so that the Foxes would only consider selling him for a world record fee.
Chelsea will beat OGC Nice to the signing of Inter Milan wonderkid Cesare Casadei, Romano claims. The Blues identified Casadei as one to add to their growing list of young talents – the club signed Carney Chukwuemeka, Omari Hutchinson, Tyler Dibling, Zack Sturge, Eddie Beach, and Gabriel Slonina this summer, in addition to several first-team players – and have agreed to pay Inter a basic fee of 15 million pounds for the transfer.
The 19-year-old central midfielder will fly to London to undergo his medical examinations in the coming days and sign a six-year contract with the Blues. The deal to take the young midfielder to England does not include a buyback clause for Internazionale – something Nice had offered to include as part of their push to sign the Italian.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have also scheduled talks with Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his representatives. The Gabon international is the club’s top target for the striker position, but a bid is yet to be received by the Catalans, who, as per Romano, are looking for a fee in the region of 30 million euros.
Earlier this window, Romelu Lukaku returned to Internazionale on a one-year loan, while Timo Werner re-joined RB Leipzig on a permanent deal.
