Manish Pandey has scored a few runs at number 3 for SRH but his strike rate has been under scrutiny. Moreover, he has been found guilty of throwing his wicket away at crucial instances. Former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha has opined that Manish should be rested and Kedar Jadhav should be brought in.
Pandey hasn’t been able to deliver the kind of performances his side expects him to. The right-handed batsman has been in the eye of the storm for his inability to score big at a brisk pace. The Sunrisers Hyderabad side has now lost all the three matches that they have played in the IPL 2021 and is languishing at the bottom of the points table.
In the game against the Mumbai Indians on 17th April 2021, Pandey failed to deliver with the bat. In his stay in the middle that lasted seven balls, the SRH batsman managed to score just two runs. Former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha has opined that Pandey should be rested in the upcoming games.
Ojha claimed that the Hyderabad outfit needs someone like Kedar Jadhav in their side who can deliver some lusty blows while batting in the middle order. Ojha also opined that Pandey needs to take a break for a couple of games as it will be helpful for him.
“You need someone like Kedar Jadhav. If you see that middle-order, it did not carry forward the hard work done by David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. For someone like Manish Pandey, it will be good for him if he gets a couple of games break. At times, it really helps,”
said Ojha in a chat with Sports Today.
Ojha further added that Jadhav is someone who can deliver for the side with the bat as well as with the ball. The cricket expert also opined that Jadhav can lend some stability to the SRH batting lineup, which it desperately needs.
Ojha claimed that SRH needs to consider Kedar Jadhav, who can deliver with the willow. “He can deliver some handy off-spin and give some stability in the batting,”
Ojha added.
Ojha even said that it is evident that Pandey at number 3 is not delivering for the side. Adding that No.3 is a very crucial position, Ojha concluded by stating that sometimes it is better for a player to take a break for a couple of games as it can help them bounce back and deliver better results.
