ATKMB have strengthened their defence by signing Florentin Pogba, the elder brother of Paul Pogba, on a two-year contract. The Guinean central defender was playing for FC Sochaux-Montbeliard in the French Ligue 2 before joining the Indian side.
The 31-year-old experience and leadership at the back will be a valuable asset for Juan Ferrando’s side, who will be hoping for more clean sheets in the ISL 2022-23 season. A strong defensive unit, combined with plenty of firepower up front, could make the Mariners very difficult to beat next season.

Pogba said in an ATKMB statement.
The defender began his career in Spain, where he was a member of Celta Vigo’s youth ranks. He later moved to France with CS Sedan before establishing himself at Saint-Etienne for six years.
He assisted the club’s promotion to Ligue 1 and appeared in 66 matches for the club in France’s topflight. Pogba later played in Turkey and the United States before returning to France with FC Sochaux. He also played for the France U-20 national team before joining the Guinea senior team.
In this transfer window, ATK Mohun Bagan have already completed the signing of winger Ashique Kuruniyan (Bengaluru), right-back Asish Rai (Hyderabad), and central midfielder Lalrinliana Hnamte (SC East Bengal). Earlier this week, the Mariners have also confirmed the arrival of The club have completed the signing of A-League star defender Brendan Hamill.
ATKMB team finished second in the 2020-21 ISL season and third in the league phase in the 2021-22 season.
