The Red Devils are keen on Germany international David Raum of TSG Hoffenheim, Sky Germany reports. The left-back signed a year earlier for Hoffenheim from Greuther Furth, following an impressive display at the 2021 UEFA European U21 Championship, and quickly established himself as one of the best performers in his position in the league.
United have reportedly held talks with Hoffenheim for the 24-year-old, and the Bundesliga side are looking for a fee in the region of 30-35 million to sanction the deal. However, the Red Devils face competition from German giants Borussia Dortmund, who could turn to Raum in case they sell one of Raphael Guerreiro or Nico Schulz.
Meanwhile, as per 90MIN, United are prepared to increase their offer for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. The Dutchman remains the club’s top target for reinforcements in central areas, with talks between the two clubs set to continue despite his declaration that he is happy where he is.
The Red Devils will increase their offer up to 70 million euros, with add-ons taking it over the 80 million mark. However, according to the report, Barcelona are looking for a sale in the region of 85 million to help with their shrinking finances.
Furthermore, United are also hoping to trump Arsenal to Ajax centre-back Lisandro Martinez, reports the Mirror. The Gunners’ interest in the left-footed Argentinian international was revealed by The Athletic last week, but the Red Devils are hoping to move ahead of the North Londoners in the race to sign him after failing in their attempts to land his teammate Jurrien Timber.
24-year-old Martinez joined Ajax from Defensa y Justicia in 2019 and has made 120 appearances for the Dutch giants, winning two titles in the time elapsed.
