Fresh reports from French news outlets RMC and Telefoot suggested that former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has an agreement with reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG and is extremely close to becoming their next manager. However, Zidane’s agent Alain Migliaccio has denied those reports in his recent interview with L’Equipe.
Many have taken for granted that Zidane will be the latest coach to helm the club after the disappointing tenure of Mauricio Pochettino, who took over at Parc des Princes in January 2021. The Argentine is believed to be on his way out, while Zidane, a three-time Champions League winner with Los Blancos, is as good an option as it gets for the Parisians, who are desperate to become European champions.
While reports of Zidane having a full agreement with PSG made the rounds in France a few days before, his agent Alain Migliaccio has come out and contradicted those claims.
“All these rumors are unfounded. As of right now, I am the only person who can represent Zinedine Zidane. Neither Zidane nor myself have been directly contacted by PSG’s owner,”
he said.
This debunks claims from RMC and Telefoot, who have placed the former Real Madrid manager close to Paris. It will be interesting to see whether the 49-year-old ends up taking up the PSG job if it is offered to him after everything that has happened between Real Madrid and PSG lately surrounding Kylian Mbappe.
Meanwhile, PSG have already started the process of cleaning up the club following the arrival of new advisor Luis Campos. PSG and Pochettino are set to part ways after decisive talks between the Argentine and the Parisian board last week.

The Argentine has been in Paris for 18 months, but it hasn’t been a productive tenure for him as they have consistently missed out on the Champions League and PSG also ended up losing the league title to Lille in 2021.
The humiliation at the hands of Real Madrid at the Round of 16 stage was the final nail in his coffin. Although his contract is set to expire in 2023, it is believed that a mutual decision has been reached in order for him to step down as head coach.
His departure follows the exit of former sporting director Leonardo as the clean-up continues in Paris.
