BILD Sport is reporting that the Bundesliga champions will demand a sum of 34 million pounds for Sergey Gnabry, whose current deal with the Bavarians expires next summer. The 26-year-old winger is reportedly unhappy over the terms offered as he believes some of his colleagues are on a much better wage than him. This has led to a standoff with other clubs across Europe taking note of his situation.
Barcelona, who also happen to have a strong interest in Bayern marksman Robert Lewandowski, are keeping tabs on Gnabry. The Blaugrana need a player capable of replacing Ousmane Dembele, who is most likely to depart the club in the upcoming transfer window.
Moreover, with Leeds United almost certain to reject an offer for Raphinha, the Germany international could become a serious target at Camp Nou.
However, the Catalans are not the only club keen on signing the 26-year-old, as Barca’s arch-rivals Real Madrid are also keeping a close eye on the wingman after failing to land Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have also been linked with a return for the player, with reports stating that boss Mikel Arteta is very keen in bringing him back to the North London club.
Although the Gunners have been linked with the winger, suggestions were that the club would sign him on a free transfer next summer. However, that may change after the Bundesliga giants placed a transfer price on him.
Arsenal academy graduate, Gnabry was previously at the club until 2016 before making a move to Werder Bremen. After only a single season at Weserstadion, he moved to Bayern Munich, wherein he has won 11 trophies since.
The German enjoyed a stunning 2021/22 season with the Allianz Arena, netting 16 goals while also providing 10 assists from 45 games across all competitions. He has also been instrumental for Hansi Flick’s side in their World Cup qualification process, where he has scored five goals for his country.
