Manchester United are prepared to part ways with Eric Bailly and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, should favorable offers arrive for the pair. The club will undergo a summer overhaul under new manager Erik ten Hag, who doesn’t see the pair as a part of his plans.
A mass exodus is likely to commence shortly after the end of the 2021/22 season at Manchester United. Boardroom figures, coaching staff, and first-team positions are all expected to be overhauled with the club preparing to correct its way following a disastrous season by bringing in new manager Erik ten Hag from Ajax. As with any new manager, Ten Hag is likely to bring players of his own and let those who he deems unfit for his system leave.
To that end, Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester United are willing to let both Eric Bailly and Aaron Wan-Bissaka leave, should the right offers arrive for the pair of them.
Corroborating the report is Manchester Evening News’ Samuel Luckhurst, who claims that the club has decided to keep Diogo Dalot and discard Wan-Bissaka – either on loan or a permanent deal. The right-back’s representatives have been informed that he isn’t part of Ten Hag’s plans, despite featuring regularly for his predecessor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United signed Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in summer 2019 for 45 million pounds fee before add-ons. Palace are one of the options for the defender this summer, as confirmed by The Athletic last month – the Eagles are considering a loan move to bring back their academy graduate.
Manchester United are also prepared to let Bailly leave this summer. The Red Devils signed the Ivorian from Villarreal in 2016, but injuries have limited him to just 113 appearances in six seasons at the club. Furthermore, with the arrivals of Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, and Raphael Varane, Bailly has fallen far behind in the pecking order; the 28-year-old has made just seven appearances this season.
Bailly has a contract with the Red Devils until 2025 effectively. However, the Ivory Coast international is valued at as little as 8 million euros by Transfermarkt making him a viable option for several sides.
