Warner demolished his former franchise with an unbeaten 92 off 58 balls on Wednesday night. Powell also hammered 34-ball 67 not out to take the team total to 207/3. Nicholas Pooran was the top scorer for the Sunrisers with 62 off 34, while Aiden Markram added 25-ball 42. But they fell short by 21 runs in the end.
This was the third consecutive loss for the orange army, and have now found themselves in a mid-table muddle with 10 points from 10 games. They are equal on points with Delhi, who have a better net run rate and Punjab Kings, who have lesser.
