Jofra Archer underwent hand surgery on March 29, and he has now been allowed to resume light training this week. The ECB released a statement stating the same. However, it is not clear when Archer would return to the field, and there is no decision on his availability for the IPL.
The England and Wales Cricket Board released a statement to confirm the same. The 26-year-old will resume light training later this week, and the Sussex and England men’s medical teams are working closely with Archer to see him back to full fitness.
“It is hoped that he will be able to up his intensity with his bowling from next week. A further update on his elbow injury will be provided once he has returned to bowling to assess the effectiveness of his recent injection. No decision has been made as yet on when Archer is due to return to playing,”
the ECB stated in their official release while providing an update on one of their premier fast bowlers.
As stated in the release, there is no decision as to when he could return to playing. Archer is a part of the Rajasthan Royals squad. The franchise have not named a replacement yet.
