SRH all-rounder Jason Holder has finished his mandatory seven-day quarantine. He will be available for the next game, which is against RCB. The former West Indies skipper added that he was looking forward to the challenge ahead.
Sunrisers Hyderabad received a big boost as all-rounder Jason Holder completed his mandatory seven-day quarantine. He was a part of the West Indies Test team that faced Sri Lanka at home. The two-match Test series ended on the 2nd of April, and Holder arrived in Chennai on the 5th of April. Thus, the former West Indies skipper was in quarantine as per the Standard Operating Procedures of the Board of Control for Cricket in India given for the IPL.
Holder has now joined the SRH bio-secure bubble. He will be available for match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on the 14th of April. The SRH Twitter account released the news of Holder coming out of quarantine.
“It’s great to be back. It was long enough in a room so happy to be back. It’s been a tough couple of months so looking forward to the challenge ahead. Looking forward to training, obviously, it’s been warm here in India so need to get accustomed to that,”
Holder was quoted saying in the video.
Holder was brought in as a replacement player in the 2020 season by SRH after Mitchell Marsh injured his ankle in their first game of the season and was subsequently ruled out. Holder scored 66 runs with the bat in four innings and took 14 wickets at an average of 16.64 in seven innings in the 2020 season.
The 2016 IPL champions have started their 2021 campaign with a loss. They lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by ten runs as they couldn’t chase down 188 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Holder’s inclusion in the squad might give the team management a good headache. David Warner, Rashid Khan, Jonny Bairstow and Mohammad Nabi were the four overseas players that SRH played in that first game, and if picked, Holder might replace Nabi.
