Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard is hoping to be joined by compatriot Erling Haaland at the Emirates – he has revealed in a recent interview with Stadium Astro. The Borussia Dortmund striker is indeed likely to move to the Premier League this summer but is expected to land in Manchester. However, Real Madrid and Barcelona, both, have been linked with his services.
Nonetheless, Odegaard believes that if Haaland truly is on his way to England, he needs to link up with him at the Emirates. The midfielder was also full of praise for his international teammate, claiming that he has everything – and can play in every league in the world.
“If he is coming to England, he needs to come to us of course! No, I don’t know what he will do but he is a great guy. To be honest we haven’t talked too much about it. I know he has so many people trying to ask him and to tell him what to do and I don’t want to do that. So, we will have to wait and see.
“He’s a beast. He is strong, he is fast, and I think he has everything. So, I think he can play in every league, in every country to be honest,”
the 23-year-old said.
Reports from several outlets recently confirmed that City are indeed closing in on a deal with Haaland’s representatives – and that once it is done, completion will be a mere formality, given that he already has a release clause in his Dortmund contract. As per rumours, should the Norwegian sign for the Citizens, he will become the highest-earning player in the Premier League at a reported 500,000 pounds-per-week wage.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners, too, will move for a striker this summer. The Athletic reported of the club’s interest in City striker Gabriel Jesus, who could be left to look for a new home if Haaland does indeed arrive to take his spot at the Etihad.
