21-year-old leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has already taken long strides in his short career ever since impressing many during the U19 World Cup 2020. He has already made four T20I appearances for Team India, having debuted in February.

He is currently featuring for Indian Premier League newcomers Lucknow Super Giants. While speaking on Sports Tak Youtube channel, he has stated that he is learning a lot from leg-spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Rashid Khan, who have already excelled at the top level. Bishnoi also revealed that Chahal has supported him and guided him a lot while calling the latter mentally strong.

“I used to watch Anil Kumble and Shane Warne a lot when I was young. These days I am following the likes of Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal because they have been very successful in modern-day cricket and I am trying to learn from them.

“Chahal has been very supportive and has guided me a lot. Chahal always remains calm and he has an idea of which balls to bowl during different situations. He is mentally very strong,”

    Bishnoi stated.

The player has picked four wickets so far in as many T20 Internationals he has played. He was one of the players India tried during their home season, keeping the upcoming T20 World Cup in mind.

However, the youngster is not fretting much about his selection for the mega event. He wants to focus only on the Premier League, where he has picked four wickets in five matches and has been extremely economical, conceding only 6.9 rpo.

Bishnoi drew attention to himself during the 2020 U-19 World Cup, where he finished as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament. As a result of his impressive performance, he was picked up by Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2020.

He played 23 matches during his two-year stint with PBKS and picked up 24 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.95. He has had an equally impressive start to his career with Lucknow and will be looking to carry that form forward.
