Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper Eoin Morgan recently claimed that former captain Dinesh Karthik has greatly supported him on and off the field. Talking about his importance in the side, Morgan said that DK the batsman is also extremely valuable to the team.
Last year, KKR could not make it to the top four due to a poor net run rate. Moreover, the team’s ‘X-factor’ Andre Russell was in extremely poor form last season. After making certain changes in the side, KKR would expect to break the jinx this season.
Speaking of the value Dinesh Karthik adds to the side, KKR skipper Morgan said that he is important because of his brilliant batting and how he supports him on and off the field.
DK offers a lot with the bat and behind the stumps. He has been in fine form, and he is always one of those players who if you watch him train and particularly bat, he times the ball beautifully and hits the ball further than most of the guys. He offers a huge amount of support to me on the pitch and off the field as well.

Last week, in an interactive session on Twitter, a fan had asked Karthik about the most exciting player KKR has recruited in the IPL 2021 auction, to which Karthik replied that it’s always great to have Shakib Al Hasan in the team.
He has played with KKR before so it’s great to have him back in our team.
Karthik added.
Shakib Al Hasan has returned back to his former IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders after being bought for Rs 3.2 crore in the IPL 2021 auction.
The all-rounder was a part of KKR’s 2012 and 2014 teams, which won the title under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir.
