Legendary cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni wants to make the most of the opportunities he is getting in the IPL. MSD had a horrible season with the bat and the skipper of the side in the 2020 edition of the IPL. He would like to deliver his best this season.
Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is happy to be back at the IPL 2021 and wants to make the most of the opportunities he has in the ongoing edition. CSK took on Delhi Capitals in their first match of the season in Mumbai.
Dhoni returned to action after Chennai’s last IPL 2020 game, where he had declared that it was “definitely not” his last match in the CSK yellow jersey, much to the relief of all CSK fans across the globe. The Chennai based franchise failed to make the playoffs for the first time in their history last season, and the three-time champions will look to make amends in 2021.
CSK did not have a great start to the tournament. In the very first game against Delhi Capitals, the team ended up on the losing side. Talking about the team’s performance in the game, MSD said that it was a bit tacky during the first few overs, and the batters did well to get to 188. Talking about the team’s bowling, he said that it could have been better. The batters were hitting over the top. There were some boundary deliveries where the execution wasn’t as good as it should have been.
Dhoni also talked about how big a part dew can play in the game. He said that when there is the dew factor, the team batting first in a night game has to get at least 15-20 runs extra. He added that a total of around 200 or more would have been better on this ground, but things don’t always go as expected.
Chennai fans would expect MSD’s side to make a strong comeback in their next game. CSK will take on Punjab Kings on April 16 in their 2nd match of the tournament.
