Bruno Fernandes has penned a new contract with Manchester United until June 30, 2026, with the option to extend it by another year. While his new deal adds only a year – potentially two – to his previous one, Fernandes has earned a massive pay hike, making him one of the highest earners in the Manchester United squad.
As per journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Portugal international will be one of the squad’s three highest-paid players moving forward.

The 27-year-old spoke of the “special relationship” he has with the club, and its fans, after penning down his new deal. He also claimed that he dreamt of playing for the Red Devils while growing up.
“From the moment that I joined Manchester United, I have had a special relationship with the club and our amazing fans,”
“I grew up watching this team, dreaming of getting the chance to play here one day. That dream is now a reality and an honor.
“Even after two years, it still feels amazing to step out at Old Trafford, to hear the fans sing my song, and to score in front of the Stretford End. It is a true privilege to wear this shirt and to fight for our incredible club.”
he told the Manchester United website.
Fernandes signed for United from Sporting Club back in January 2020, six months after the club initially showed an interest in acquiring him; the Red Devils paid sporting 55 million euros up-front for the player while promising 25 million further in achievable bonuses. It took the player no time to settle into the rhythm of the English game: he finished his first half-season at the club with 12 goals in 22 appearances and was named Player of the Year.
The Portugal international has managed to carry his early form across three seasons. His total goal contribution tally stands at 49 goals and 39 assists in just 117 games, providing evidence of the remarkable impact he has had in his short time at the club.
