Tottenham striker Harry Kane is said to have attracted the attention of the Manchester clubs, who are also vying for Erling Haaland.
Should Tottenham fail to secure UEFA Champions League football for the following season, Harry Kane will look to leave the club – reports The Athletic. The forward is frustrated by the lack of trophies and consistent Champions League football. As such, he will tell the club of his intentions should Spurs miss out on Europe’s premier competition for a second season in the row.
If Kane indeed decides to leave Spurs, both Manchester clubs will be interested in securing his services. The report claims that Manchester City and Manchester United are the two clubs most likely to offer him an escape route. However, a move abroad remains a possibility.
Both City and United remain in the chase of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland. The Norwegian attacker is the most in-demand player on the continent, with the Manchester clubs fighting for his signature, alongside Chelsea, Barcelona, and Real Madrid. However, they will turn to Kane should the possibility of signing Haaland disappear.
The report also claims that the player would be an option for City, looking to replace Sergio Aguero this summer. The Citizens announced the departure of their club legend recently after a decade of service. Pep Guardiola, who manages City at the moment, is said to be an admirer of Kane. However, the club is also keeping tabs on Romelu Lukaku as a potential Haaland alternative.
Manchester United, on the other hand, are focusing on Haaland as their primary target this summer. Nonetheless, they too would be willing to consider signing Kane, provided his fee can be lowered through the medium of player exchange.
Paris Saint Germain are among the foreign clubs who could act upon Kane’s situation at Spurs. The Parisians are currently managed by Mauricio Pochettino, who was Kane’s boss at Spurs for several seasons. The player himself would consider the option of moving abroad but would prefer to stay in England.
