The Blaugrana are hard at work to bring in new players for the summer. The club has, reportedly, secured deals for Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen; and is working to do the same with Noussair Mazraoui. All three of them are to join for free, but the club is willing to go big to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha.
Marca reports that the Brazilian is the club’s first choice to replace the outgoing Ousmane Dembele. Previous rumours have established the Catalans’ interest in Raphinha while also claiming that the club has already made contact with his representatives in case a summer move is in the offing. Barcelona also have an option to turn Adama Traore’s loan move from Wolverhampton into a permanent one.
Ronald Araujo marked his incredible rise from the Barcelona academy to a senior team regular by scoring his first goal in an El Clasico. His effort was timely; the Uruguayan outjumped his marker from a set-piece to head in Barcelona’s second just before half-time, setting his team on its way to a comfortable 4-0 win over Real Madrid. The expectations are high from the youngster within the club, but an ongoing contractual dispute could force them to sell him in the upcoming summer window.
As per Catalunya Radio, Araujo is resisting Barcelona’s attempts to renew his contract due to a disparity in his expectations and the club’s offer. The centre-back is among the lower earners in the squad and, with his deal up in 2023, is attracting interest from Liverpool and Chelsea.
Full-back Sergi Roberto, too, is in a standoff with his boyhood club over wages and could leave in the upcoming summer window. Sport.es reports that the versatile Roberto has received an offer from rivals Atletico Madrid and is likely to head to the capital next season.
