Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ruben Neves is a huge admirer of N’Golo Kante and has said that it is almost impossible to get the ball off the Chelsea midfielder.
The Frenchman has made a name for himself and commands plenty of respect in the football community. He epitomises technical brilliance as well as work ethic and acts like the fulcrum in midfield for the Blues.
The 30-year-old midfielder has evolved his style of play over the years. His beginnings in the sport were extremely humble, but Kante drew international attention following his performances as a pivot for Leicester City in their historic 2015-16 Premier League title-winning season.
He also famously lifted the World Cup with France in 2018 and has also adapted his game to play a box-to-box role at Chelsea. Kante played fundamental roles in winning the 2016-17 Premier League as well as the Champions League last season.
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ midfielder Neves has lavished praise on N’Golo Kante and said that it’s practically impossible to take the ball off his feet. In an interview with The Athletic, the Portuguese was questioned about some of the toughest opponents he has faced in his career.
He reserved special praise for Kante which just goes to show how incredible a footballer he really is.
“I can say N’Golo Kante (of Chelsea) as well, it’s impossible to take the ball from him and, defensively, he’s a monster.”
Kante started for Chelsea in the latest Premier League fixture against LOSC Lille. The Blues won 1-2 on the night with goals from Christian Pulisic and Cesar Azpilicueta and progressed to the quarter-finals with a 1-4 aggregate. Although Kante wasn’t able to have much of an impact in the clash, he is integral to Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Chelsea have been stuck in limbo off the pitch. The club, owned by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, has seen several sanctions being imposed by the UK government which limit spending on travel for matches, matchday revenues as well as bar them from signing players or extending contracts.
However, it is believed that Kante is unfazed by the distraction, and his priority is to renew his contract, which will keep him at the club even after his current deal expires in 2023.
