Mauricio Pochettino is a target for Manchester United, as he has been for some time. However, the Red Devils are faced with an unforeseen complication in their pursuit of the Argentinian tactician with Real Madrid also keen to employ him as their new manager.
The Red Devils could be joined by Real Madrid in the pursuit of the Argentinian tactician should he leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the current season. Pochettino’s relationship with PSG is said to be tenuous, meaning that separation at the end of the season isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.
Manchester United, for long, have held an interest in the ex-Tottenham boss, as have Los Blancos, whose attempts to bring him to the Bernabeu at the start of the campaign were turned down by the Parisian side, reports Daily Mail.
With Pochettino attached to PSG, Real turned to the then Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti and eventually prised him away from Merseyside to return to Madrid. However, as per the report, Madrid chairman Florentino Perez could part ways with the Italian again and revive his interest in Poch – whose relationship with the club’s target Kylian Mbappe is likely to have a bearing on the decision – should he fail to attain certain targets.
Los Blancos are on-course to win the league barring any significant derailments but are trailing 1-0 to Pochettino’s PSG in the Champions League round-of-16 after the first leg. The thirteen-time cup winners could face knockout stage elimination for the fourth successive year should they fail to overturn the deficit.

Real Madrid’s interest in Pochettino threatens to throw Manchester United’s pursuits in disarray. The Red Devils recently finalized their managerial shortlist for the next season, as per The Athletic, one which listed the Argentinian among the candidates.
The English side’s interest in Poch persists since his Spurs days, back when he took the North London club from being top-six contenders to title challengers and a Champions League final. However, the PSG manager is not the only name they are after, with Ajax’s Erik ten Hag also said to be among the options.
