LaLiga chief Javier Tebas believes Real Madrid will complete a stunning double swoop for Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. The Spaniard thinks Los Blancos are the only team in the market capable of getting the two deals over the line and that the unprecedented double-deal could be an exciting proposition for the Spanish league, which has suffered from a lack of star quality following the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“Madrid will get Mbappe and Haaland as the others [Barcelona and Juventus] are ruined [financially],”
“That Mbappe comes is great news for La Liga. It would be a joy for La Liga. It’s the best thing that could happen to La Liga.”
he told the media.
The LaLiga chief did label his comments pure speculation, claiming he had no insider scoop on the ongoing situation.
“I have no information regarding Mbappe. “But I’ve seen few cases of players who have six months left on their contracts that have not renewed their contracts and then went on to continue at the club.”
Tebas clarified.
Los Blancos attempts to sign Mbappe for a nine-figure sum were rebuffed last summer by Paris Saint-Germain, who, confident as they were, believed the Frenchman would pen down a renewal with the club.
The World Cup winner is yet to renew his terms with the Parisians, but Independent reports that they are prepared to make him the highest-paid player in the world in an attempt to affront the Real interest for good.
The perennial French champions are offering the 22-year-old a deal worth 500,000 pounds a week, making him by far the best-paid player in the world. Mbappe could still move to Real, but penning down fresh terms would prevent the Parisians from losing him for free.
