As the biggest cricketing league in the world is about to start, innumerable cricket pundits and former players have started giving their early predictions. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan has also joined the race. He has predicted that the defending champions Mumbai Indians will win the upcoming season as well.

With IPL 2021 due to begin on Friday, Vaughan tweeted on Wednesday that he believes that Mumbai Indians will win the coveted trophy. In case something out of the ordinary happens, SunRisers Hyderabad might win the finals this season.

Early #IPL2021 prediction … @mipaltan will win it … if by some bizarre loss of form then @SunRisers will win it … #OnOn #India

    — Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) April 7, 2021

He stated that David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad can take the trophy home if MI lose their form in a bizarre turn of events.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians will begin their campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the season opener in Chennai on April 9. MI will start as the favorites once again after they defeated Delhi Capitals in the finals of the tournament last year in UAE.

Mumbai have a chance of making a unique record this season. No other team has been able to win three seasons on the trot. The only other side to have won two on the bounce apart from Mumbai Indians are MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.
