In, the Pro Kabaddi League season 8 match 100, the Inaugural champions Jaipur Pink Panthers took on the Gujarat Giants while the defending champions Bengal Warriors took on the Telugu Titans. The Panthers came on top of the Giants, winning the game 36-31.
The star for the Panthers on the night was Deepak Hooda who scored a Super 10. He was ably supported by Arjun Deswal with seven raid points.
Jaipur’s defence which otherwise has been very poor in the season, put in a great display against the Giants as they scored 15 tackle points to the Giants’ total of nine tackle points. The defence was led by captain Sandeep Dhull who himself scored four tackle points.
For the Giants, no one had a good game. Their raider Pardeep Kumar, who has shown immense promise in their recent matches, struggled to get going. He could manage only six raid points, most of which came in the second half.
Rakesh Narwal tried his best to close the gap with his all-round performance as he picked up six raid points and two tackle points, but that wasn’t enough for the Giants.
After this win, the Jaipur Pink Panthers have entered into the top six of the points table while the Giants are at ninth position.
The second game of the night saw the defending champions Bengal Warriors fighting it out with the Telugu Titans. The Titans were looking for their second win of the season. They were on course for the win but were eventually stopped by the Warriors as they inflicted an all-out on the Titans with three minutes to go in the match.
The first half saw a topsy turvy game as it ended on 14-12 in favour of the Warriors. The second half started in a dramatic fashion as the Titans inflicted an all-out on the Warriors to get a four points lead.
Bengal’s raiding duties were again led by Maninder Singh, who scored a Super 10. No other raider really supported Maninder with Gowda contributing just four raid points. The defence of the Warriors didn’t do much either.
For the Titans, Ankit Beniwal and Rajnish scored eight and seven raid points, respectively. In defence, Sandeep Khandola and Akash scored three tackle points each.
Neither team would be happy with this tied result as both Bengal Warriors, and Telugu Titans are still languishing in the bottom half of the table.
