Striker Endrick currently plays in the Palmeiras youth squad, and is being scouted heavily by the La Liga giants, report Marca.
Young Brazillian footballing sensation Endrick, who currently plays for Palmeiras’ youth team, has professed his admiration for FC Barcelona, in a recent interview, after several reports suggested that Barcelona are actively scouting the youngster for some time now.
The Palmeiras youngster has been tearing up the record books in youth football and also was the Most Valuable Player in the Copinha youth competition, in addition to scoring the goal of the tournament. The youngster is also drawing interest from Real Madrid, who are reportedly ready to pay 45 million euros for the forward.
Despite being just 15 years old, Endrick is considered one of the most talented youngsters in world football at the moment. He said that he was aware that Barcelona were seriously scouting him but showed immense maturity, saying that although he was extremely flattered by the intersest, he is currently focused on his career at Palmeiras, and aims to excel there.
“I know that Barça was scouting me, but now I am focused on Palmeiras, forgetting all the factors outside the field. I played my game, we were champions and I managed to play well, I hope I impressed them.”
he told SPORT.
Endrick then went on to speak about the association between Brazilian players and Barcelona, as he cited examples of his idols.
He added that every child in Brazil aims to play for Barcelona, stressing on the club’s massive influence on the youth. He also spoke about the trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar at Barca, which wreaked havoc among the best defences in the world between 2014 and 2017.
“Barça is a club where many players passed through who inspire us younger ones like Neymar Jr., Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Romario… and Ronaldinho. All the boys who want to play abroad think of Barça because of Neymar Jr, who is from our generation.
I remember Barça being a spectacular team with Xavi and Iniesta in midfield, as well as the MSN in the attack. I think I can fit in that style.”
Endrick said.
Although interest in Endrick increases by the day, European clubs will not be able to sign him until he turns 18. This will mean that either Barca or Real Madrid will try to secure an agreement with Palmeiras to sign him when he completes the legal age requirement.
