Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in the capital of Catalunya to sign for Barcelona on a six-month loan deal, reports claim. Elsewhere, Liverpool are continuing with their interest in Fulham youngster Fabio Carvalho – on deadline day.
Images have confirmed the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in Barcelona – the Gabon international is said to be in the city to complete a loan move to the club from Arsenal for the remainder of the season.
Reports confirmed Barcelona’s interest in the forward last night but earmarked his wages as a potential stumbling block. However, the deal seems to be moving forward with Aubameyang taking a pay cut to help the Spanish side with their persistent financial issues.
While Arsenal look set to lose Aubameyang for the remainder of the season, having already sanctioned the departures of several other players, they are not expected to add to their ranks before the window closes.
As per David Ornstein of The Athletic, the Gunners currently are not in advanced talks with any of their reported targets – including Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak, who was pictured in London over the previous weekend.
Elsewhere, Liverpool are moving forward with their interest in Fulham’s teenage prodigy, Fabio Carvalho. The 19-year-old has been a key part of Marco Silva’s promotion-chasing Fulham side this season, contributing with eight goals and two assists in 15 starts. However, the Englishman is out of contract in the summer, with suitors already lining up for his signature.
The prospect of increased competition in the summer has forced Liverpool’s hand early – as it did with Luis Diaz last week.

According to The Athletic, The Reds are ready to pay a 5 million pounds fee to Fulham while allowing the Championship side to keep hold of the player until the summer. Fulham are yet to respond to the offer.
Should Carvalho be allowed to join Liverpool, he would walk in the footsteps of another Fulham graduate who left the prospect of football at Craven Cottage to continue his development at Anfield – Harvey Elliott. Carvalho will also become the Reds’ second signing of the winter – and third overall – following the arrival of Diaz from FC Porto.
