The Real Madrid head coach has claimed that Eden Hazard is still in his plans for the next season, contrary to rumours that the Los Blancos were prepared to sell the underperforming attacker, after a huge transfer from the Premier League that set back the Spanish giants a €140 million.
The Belgian was believed to be on his way back to the Premier League, with a few clubs reportedly interested in securing deals to sign the previously brilliant winger. However, Ancelotti has rubbished these reports as he quashed the possibility of Hazard moving away from Madrid, as he claimed that the Belgian was still very much still in his plans for the upcoming season.
Fitness has not been Hazard’s best friend during his time at the Spanish capital, as he has been spent a considerable amount of time on the sidelines owing to injury, following his move from Stamford Bridge.
Hazard has made just 44 La Liga appearances in three seasons, which include the 14 times he has played during the ongoing season. However, in spite of so many pitfalls that the player star has suffered at Real, Ancelotti still believes that Hazard has what it takes to succeed at Madrid.
“Hazard is in our plans for the next season, I can confirm,”.
the Italian was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
The manager backing him despite his poor tenure at the club should give Hazard a much-needed morale boost as he aims to regain his lost form in the near future. However, there have also been rumours that Real Madrid’s public pursuit of French superstar Kylian Mbappe, who is a free agent at the end of the season, could send the Belgian packing.
But those reports have since been refuted, as Los Blancos are believed to be interested in keeping Hazard, even if Mbappe signs for the club in the summer.
