Marcus Rashford and Manchester United are in discussions regarding a new deal. The England international’s current contract is due to expire in 2023. One player who might not be at the club by then is centre-back Eric Bailly, who is wanted by AC Milan.
The striker is due for a contract renewal at Manchester United; the Red Devils will turn their attention towards securing the long-term future of their star forward after seeing midfielders Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard reach the final six months of their respective deals, reports ESPN. Rashford’s current deal runs out in June 2023, albeit the club remains an option to extend his contract by 12 months.
As per reports, Rashford’s current deal is worth 200 thousand pounds per week but still ranks him outside the top five earners at the club. The Englishman has suffered a sharp loss of form recently, but that hasn’t deterred the club, whose hierarchy is keen to address the issue while also remaining confident that he will commit his future by signing a new deal.
The 24-year-old has spent the last seven years with the senior team, during which he has amassed nearly 300 appearances and scored 91 goals. He has also become a regular with the England national team, for whom he is due to reach a half-century of appearances in four games.
While Rashford is expected to stay in Manchester till 2023 and beyond, one player who could be far gone by then is Eric Bailly. The Ivorian is behind Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, and Victor Lindelof in the centre-back hierarchy and is attracting interest from Serie A giants AC Milan.
As per Gianluca Di Marzio, the defender has already affirmed his interest in joining the Milanese club, which wants to bring him on loan until the end of the season with an option to make his move permanent. However, Bailly is not the only option for the Rossoneri: they are also considering Abdou Diallo of Paris Saint-Germain, Gleison Bremer of Torino, and Nicolo Casala of Hellas Verona.
