Two one-sided encounters were witnessed on Tuesday as the Patna Pirates defeated the U Mumba and the Telugu Titans were taken down by the Gujarat Giants.
The Patna Pirates rose to the top of the table with a win against U Mumba for the first time in four years on Tuesday. The Pirates dominated the match right from the first minute, and that is evident from their 20-point victory margin, as they won by a 43-23 scoreline.
Raiders Prashath Kumar Rai, Sachin and Monu shone for the Pirates as they scored 20 points combined. Defender Neeraj Kumar stood like a wall in the back and accumulated eight tackle points as well. He was supported well by Shadloui Chianeh, who scored four tackle points.
U Mumbai missed the services of their star raider V Ajith Kumar as he was sidelined with an injury. Raider Abhishek Singh tried to deliver his best in his absence with eight points from seven raids, but it didn’t turn out to be enough for the team.
Telugu Titans’ winless run continues
The Gujarat Giants registered another massive victory against a struggling Telugu Titans in the second game of the evening as they won 40-22.
Raider Rakesh Sungroya delivered a sensational performance as he accumulated a total of 16 points, including 14 raid points. He had good support from Mahendra Rajput, who scored six points. Parvesh Bhainswal and Rathan K were excellent in defence as they earned five points each.
Rajnish Dalal tried his best for the Titans and scored 12 points single-handedly out of their total of 22, but he did not find enough support from the other players to take the contest close. T Adarsh also scored three from raids, out of his total of four. But the defence looked absolutely clueless, and that eventually turned out to be the main reason behind their loss.
