Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw slammed his team after Wolves registered their first win at Old Trafford since 1980 on Monday.
Ralf Rangnick’s men suffered an embarrassing 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton on Monday. Joao Moutinho’s strike from long range with less than 10 minutes remaining proved to be the clincher for Bruno Lage’s side, who became the first Wolves manager in the Premier League era to win a game at Old Trafford.

The visiting team took 14 shots in the first half, which was the most they took in one half this season, and also the most an away team has had at this ground in five years. Despite not being clinical enough, Wolves were not punished as Bruno Fernandes hit the crossbar when Nemanja Matic teed him with a brilliant cutback.
After the game, United defender Shaw did not shy away from expressing his disappointment. He mentioned that the team lacked the quality necessary to get through in games like these and have struggled to play together as a team.
“Not good enough, we really struggled, we couldn’t get hold of the ball and when we didn’t have the ball we weren’t agressive enough. We didn’t put them under any pressure. We have to put more pressure on them, we have to have intensity.
Us players, we have been here a long time, maybe tonight we struggled, I didn’t think we were all there together. You look at the players we have, we have unbelievable quality but sometimes quality is not enough,”
the England international said.
Before the game against Burnley (3-1, Dec 30), Shaw had played only one game under interim boss Rangnick, which came against Young Boys in the final group game of the Champions League (1-1, Dec 8). He produced an impressive performance against Burnley but looked a little out of ideas in this fixture.
With this defeat, United have slumped to seventh, and Wolves are just three points behind them at eighth. Arsenal, who suffered a 1-2 defeat against Manchester City on Sunday, maintain their 4th position, just one point ahead of West Ham.
