The fifth day of the Pro Kabaddi League saw two blockbuster matches as Dabang Delhi KC took on Gujarat Giants followed up by the season 6 champions, Bengaluru Bulls locking horns with the defending champion, Bengal Warriors.
Bengal Warriors had a firm grasp over the game throughout the game, but Lee Dong-geon produced a stellar two-point raid in the final ninety seconds of the game, which took the contest away from them. Pawan Sehrawat picked up his best performance this season, picking up fifteen raid points tonight. The high-flyer was brilliant for his side scoring five bonus points and a six-point super raid.
The Warriors will be disappointed about the result as they were dominant for the majority of the game, with skipper Maninder Singh picking up seventeen raid points, emerging as the top scorer of the match.
Esmaeil Nabibaksh played a great supporting role, scoring both in offence and defence, picking up eight points. Bengal fans will hope that the team quickly shrugs off the defeat and get back to their winning ways.
Naveen Kumar keeps Dabang Delhi alive
In the opening contest of day five between Dabang Delhi KC and Gujarat Giants, the Giants dominated the opposition’s raiders, not giving them any room to score points. Vijay Malik and Ajay Thakur were kept silent for the majority of the game as the two could only score six points in total.
Dabang’s Naveen Kumar was brilliant as the youngster picked up eleven points for his side, completing his third consecutive super ten this season. In the final ten seconds of the game, he pulled a miracle, leaping over Ravinder Pahal to score a touchpoint to level the scores between both sides at the end of the final whistle.
DD will be happy with the draw here tonight as they maintain their top spot on the points table with thirteen points in three games. The Giants climbed the points table as well, moving up to the fourth position with nine points to their name.
Tamil Thalaivas will be in action against U Mumba tonight in the opening fixture of day six as both sides will look for a victory after suffering a defeat in their previous fixtures. The second game will feature UP Yoddha up against Jaipur Pink Panthers, with both sides looking to continue their winning streak.
