Dabang Delhi KC and Puneri Paltan faced each other in the second game of day two where the former beat their opponents by an eleven-point margin to register their first win of the season.
Dabang Delhi dominated Puneri Paltan throughout the game, keeping their strike raiders, Rahul Chaudhari and Nitin Tomar at bay who could only register 12 points in total during the entire match. The Dabang Delhi defence kept the Pune raiders on their toes and gave them no space for errors.
Sandeep Narwal and captain Joginder Singh proved to be a deadly combination at the corners as the two coordinated perfectly with each other. Sharing five tackle points amongst each other.
Naveen Kumar once again was the star for DD, as the star raider registered another Super Ten in the records with a total of fourteen points against Puneri Paltan. Naveen was supported by Vijay Malik who excellently fulfilled his duties as a support raider accumulating nine points to his name.
DD will definitely be excited with their win over Puneri Paltan as they will have U Mumba tomorrow who stunned Bengaluru Bulls in the opening contest of the season.
Gujarat Giants & Patna Pirates win in thrilling encounters over the Pink Panthers and Haryana Steelers
The Jaipur Pink Panthers faced the Gujarat Giants in the opening fixture of day 2 at Bengaluru as they failed to get past the rock-solid defence of the Giants. The Pink Panthers were able to keep the losing margin under seven so they will have to settle with a single point tonight.
The two sides were evenly matched early in the contest, but the Giants didn’t take long before their defenders started to dominate the Pink Panthers raiding unit. GG earned thirteen tackle points in the game compared to Jaipur’s seven, proving to be the deciding factor of the game.
Girish Ernak was excellent in the defence against the PP, earning a total of seven tackle points in the game. He was well supported by Paresh Bhainswal, who racked three tackle points.
In the final fixture of the day, three-time champions Patna Pirates faced Haryana Steelers in a thrilling encounter that went on to the last minute. Both the sides were evenly matched in both offence and defence, but Monu Goyat and Prashant Rai were the key to the Pirates victory as the duo accumulated 22 raid points against the Steelers, leading to a 42-39 victory.
Patna will definitely be happy with their win here tonight. After losing out Pardeep Narwal in the auction to UP Yoddha, Monu Goyat, who has been a support raider for Pardeep Narwal for the past few seasons, was brilliant tonight. Patna fans will hope that both Monu and Prashant can continue with their excellent form in the upcoming games.
