The Blaurgana have faced rejection in their pursuit of German sensation Karim Adeyemi, who prefers a move back to his native country – as per reports. Meanwhile, their attention has turned towards Edinson Cavani instead.
Germany international Karim Adeyemi has rejected Barcelona’s approach in favor of a return to his native country, reports SPORT. The Catalans were rumored to be heavily interested in the young striker, who has been a revelation in the Austrian Bundesliga and the Champions League for RB Salzburg this season, as well as on the international stage for Die Mannschaft.
The 19-year-old has also reportedly rejected an approach from Italian champions Inter Milan for the same reason. Borussia Dortmund have emerged as favorites to sign the youngster in recent months as they look to prepare for the expected departure of their own striking phenomenon – Erling Haaland.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have turned their attention towards Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani – as per SPORT. Despite a strong end to the previous season, the Uruguayan lost his place in the starting eleven following the return of Cristiano Ronaldo. He is sought by the Blaugrana, who want to replace Sergio Aguero, who is expected to announce his retirement in a press conference on Wednesday due to cardiac complications.
The Spanish giants are looking to add to their attack in the upcoming winter window to overcome a poor start to the season. Furthermore, the recent injury crisis has left them with few available options at the top end of the pitch, evidenced by the fact that Luuk De Jong was the only fit striker in the squad for their game against Osasuna. As such, the club is looking to bring in an experienced and cost-effective addition to help counter their recent woes, and Cavani fits the bill.
