Los Blancos believe they have secured the signing of Kylian Mbappe for next season, reports AS. La Liga table-toppers publicly courted the Frenchman in the summer and submitted three bids to Paris Saint-Germain for his transfer, all of which were rejected.
Luckily for the Santiago Bernabeu-based club, the 22-year-old is approaching the end of his contract and will be available to sign for free next summer. Moreover, the club can enter a formal pre-contract agreement with the player starting from January 1, 2022.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been dropping hints publicly over the arrival of Mbappe in his recent press conferences.
The Italian gave another one recently when he asked the France international to “follow his dreams”, in response to the revelation that Mbappe’s latest autobiographical comic revealed his childhood dream of donning the iconic white shirt of Real Madrid.
“Children have to follow their dreams, just as I had the dream of playing in Serie A and achieved it,”
he said in a press conference.
Ancelotti might get the chance to line Mbappe up in his attack next season, as per the report from AS. The youngster is not expected to renew his contract with the Parisians, allowing him to sign for Real next summer – for free. PSG stand to make a huge loss on the France international, whom they signed from AS Monaco in 2017 for a whopping 180 million euros.
Furthermore, as per the report, Mbappe personally wants to lead the new Real Madrid project starting next summer, which includes a renovated Santiago Bernabeu. He 22-year-old also believes that playing for Los Blancos increases his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or; he could only muster a ninth-placed finish this year after a disappointing domestic and international campaign.
