The Board of Control for Cricket has revealed the U19 India A and B squad for the upcoming tri-series against Bangladesh, which will be conducted in Kolkata.

The tournament is set to begin on November 28 and the final of it will be played on December 7. The tournament will be conducted in a double round-robin format, and the teams topping the charts after it will play the final on 7th.

The All India Junior Selection Committee has picked two teams for this tri-series, and it could be a pivotal assignment for all the players involved before the ICC U19 Men’s World Cup which will be held next year in West Indies. Having lost the final last time to Bangladesh, the Men in Blue will be keen on going all the way.

Although India will be planting two of the three teams in this tri-series, the youth Bangladesh setup has shown immense promise in recent times, and the Indian teams will not be treading lightly.

SK Rasheed and Aneeshwar Gautam have been appointed captains of these teams, with Yash Dhull and PM Singh Rathore acting as their deputies, respectively. Rasheed has done well in an all-round capacity and picks wickets with his leg-spin at regular intervals.

The likes of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Aryan Dalal, Dinesh Bana, Aaradhya Yadav and others have done a fantastic job leading up to the tournament at the U19 level and are likely to cement their spot in the main squad that will travel to the Caribbean Islands.

Historically, the U19 World Cup has been a decent hunting ground for the Indian sides, having won the tournament on four occasions. Teams under Mohammad Kaif, Virat Kohli, Unmukt Chand and Prithvi Shaw went all the way before, and one among the selected captains will be desperate to join that elite list.
