The German national team striker Karim Adeyemi is expected to follow in the footsteps of Erling Haaland, Takumi Minamino, and Hwang Hee-chan by leaving RB Salzburg for one of Europe’s top clubs. According to Sky Sports Germany, PSG are leading a horde of clubs in race to sign the 19-year-old.
The youngster has caught the attention of several big clubs this season due to his sensational form in the Austrian League and the UEFA Champions League, albeit it is believed that Paris Saint-Germain have recently got in front of the queue for the German.
The Parisians are admirers of the striker and could make an attempt to replace the outgoing Kylian Mbappe with him. The Frenchman’s contract at Parc des Princes expires at the end of the season, and he has been the subject of interest from 13-time Champions League winners Real Madrid.
Borussia Dortmund, too, are keen on Adeyemi with the future of their number nine Erling Haaland uncertain. However, despite what happens to Haaland in the coming months, BVB still want to try and sign the German striker currently lighting up the Austrian Bundesliga, as per Sport1. The Bundesliga giants are prepared to offer the 19-year-old a starting salary higher than that of Jude Bellingham.
Adeyemi, who spent two years in the youth system of Bayern Munich, left Germany for Austria in 2018. The youngster signed for RB Salzburg from SpVgg Unterhaching and spent his first two seasons on loan at Salzburg’s sister club FC Liefering. The 19-year-old made the jump to the Salzburg first team in 2020 and has scored 24 goals in 67 appearances since.
Fourteen of those 24 goals have come this season – in just 18 appearances. Furthermore, Adeyemo has scored four times in five appearances in Europe this term and also netted on his senior international debut against Armenia in September.
