According to Bild, Barcelona are keen to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Andre Silva in the summer transfer window.
The search for a striker for Blaugrana continues as they look to German side Eintracht Frankfurt for possible options upfront. The Catalans are interested in luring Portuguese striker Andre Silva on a permanent deal from Frankfurt.
Manchester United and Atletico Madrid were also in the race for the Portuguese striker as Luis Suarez going upfront. Andre Silva is currently on a permanent tenure with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt and has scored 21 goals in 24 games.
Furthermore, Silva has made 38 appearances for the Portuguese national team so far. He started his career with FC Porto before moving to AC Milan. Since then, the striker has been on a couple of loan moves – Sevilla and Frankfurt.
His stay at Sevilla provides him with a vital La Liga experience which might be crucial for his move to Barcelona. La Liga is a lot more technical than some of the other top European league, and strikers like Silva will provide an edge to the Catalan side.
Silva’s contract at Frankfurt runs out in 2023, and Barcelona will need to pay a transfer fee to get the Portuguese striker. The new president Joan Laporta will be hoping to strike a deal with Jorge Mendes, who represents Silva.
Barcelona zfd also reportedly interested in Erling Haaland and Memphis Depay after they let Luis Suarez go in the last summer window to Atletico Madrid. Suarez has been scoring regular goals for the Madrid side, while the Catalans have struggled to score of late.
